In terms of mobile, he expects people to have relationships with every carrier and device-maker in the world and expects that half of their future traffic will come from non-PC users.
2. Chad Hurley is the co-founder of Youtube his company’s goal is that video broadcasting will be the most ubiquitous and accessible form of communication. The tools for video recording will continue to become smaller and more affordable. Personal media devices will be universal and interconnected. People will have the opportunity to record and share video with a small group of friends or everyone around the world. He is a very positive technological determinist due to his eagerness to expand the media source he has created.

Linear media is fast giving way to liquid media, where you can move seamlessly in and out of different settings.

Interactivity-New ways of Streaming compressed information, ISDN cable (broadband). Through the air and telephone cables, reason it is compressed is so that now it can send multiple strands of information through one feed. BAND WIDTH. You can interact with it/each other responses and it replies, it is a two way feed, compressing of digital information.

Hypertextuality- access to anywhere within a media text in order (e.g. a DVD as appose to a video) jumping from one text to another anyway you wish. You can select where you want to go- ABCDEF you can jump from A to E or D to F as you wish.

Dispersal- how information can be dispersed and is shared, it is to do with market size and access that users actually have. Targeting the users to maximize their market.

Virtuality- leading and linking with the real and representation. Linked to iconography, how real something is, mimicking and representing the world. Who is doing it and why?

Convergence- an issue to do with new technologies converging into one. E.g. MP3 players that can play videos and view photos. Where it will all go next and if people will use it? Size of gadgets as conversion starts and size of data holding etc.

Audience- How does the audience use the technology? Does it change the way they use it? Does it change the way they took in information before? Was it in demand or did the industry make us think we needed to use it?

Regulation and control- is there control of technologies use? Who is controlling? What happens with copyright issues? IS it worth controlling? And what are the implications and reality of people subverting it? E.g. downloading music effects the music industry.

Ownership- who owns the technology? Does that make the difference? How much money can effect and competition between brands. Effects that users have.
